Cooling fan motor not coming on

Sounds like you have a bad coolant temperature sensor if the fan works when you unplug the coolant temperature sensor, but does not work when the engine reaches the correct temperature.

Already replaced the sensor.

The fan circuit is working from what you said if it turns on when you unplug the sensor. What temperature is the engine getting to without the fan coming on?

I have let it get to almost the red. 230 ish.

Did you see that temperature on the code reader? A temperature gun or the temperature gauge itself? all the times I have seen the fan come on by unplugging the temperature sensor it has been the sensor itself bad.

I see there is two different temperature senders one for the gauge and one for the computer temperature which controls when the fan comes on.

My local parts morons said there's not

There is two one for the gauge and one for the computer.One wire is gauge two wire is computer which one dis you change ?There both in the same area.Also what was the part number?

Part number su3035 this is a autozone duralast coolant temp sensor. This car is a 99 Chrysler sebring convertible with the 2.5 v6. All 3 parts stores say there is no sensor on this car that is called a temp switch. Says other models may have 2 sensors but not this 1. Idk I have searched entire engine cannot locate temp sensor.

I changed the 1 with 2 wires

I didn't know you had the convertible for some reason that has one sensor rather than two.Since the fan comes on when unplugging the temp sensor then the relays fan computer fan driver etc are working.Do you have a code reader that can read live coolant temp?Have you checked for codes in the computer yet?

Will check and see if my harbor freight 130 dollar code reader can read the temp. No codes on at current time
