Cold morning warmed car up started driving. Got 2.2 miles car popped then started venting coolant steam from under the upper plenum manifold. Left a trail of fluid from street to where I parked. Radiator should no visible fluid. Put in a half gallon of 50/50 fluid (all I had available) made it home car never ran hot. But continued to vent coolant steam from under manifold. What could cause this?

Probably a blown coolant hose. the system will have to be pressure tested and inspected for this leak. you may have to look around under the vehicle or use a flashlight and mirror to view had to see places. the leak should not be hard to locate with the amount of coolant reported being lost.
