coolant bypass removal from water pump

the heading of this question is pretty much it. i finally got the pulley puller and took the power steering pump pulley off. i have everything unbolted and unfastened that would be keeping me from pulling the water pump of the motor. Except, the coolant bypass off the top left of the water pump. need to ask you for the mechanics trick to getting this sucker out of the pump. if it breaks in the process, will i be able to find one to replace it if it does break in removal process? this sucker is wedged in the pump pretty darn tight. need some guidance please. thanks,
