Coolan mixed with oil

I have checked my car with workshop and we got the coolant is mixed with oil. The coolant was flushed and refilled by normal water to check. We observed after two weeks a brown oil in coolant. The mechanics said there is a leak from engine to coolant. I have to change the all coolant components such as radiator, filters, all pipes, rubber, seals, gaskets, clips, coolant reservoir, etc. Which cost me around $1,000.00. All of these to ensure the coolant system is fully flushed from oil. Now, is it necessary to do all of these?

I do not see any mention of fixing the oil leak first. Most likely this is due to a head gasket failure. That is the important part. I do not think you need to replace all those parts just a few good flushes after the head gasket is replaced is all I would worry about. Unless the mechanic can offer up any proof or whatnot on the motor oil instantly ruining those parts, but I have never heard of it.

He said the problem is in the filter of engine towards the coolant and from transmission towards the coolant and the leakage happened there. And so, they need to be replaced.

If this is a Mercedes Benz mechanic or dealer, I would then trust them. I really am not familiar with that engine I was just saying normally it is a head gasket.
