Is it possible to replace the connecting rods without removing the engine?

Can I change the connecting rod bearings without pulling the engine?

Hi,

As far as I can tell, you should be able to. You need to remove the engine oil pan to access the rod bearings. According to the manual, you can remove the pan without removing the engine.

On the other hand, when I look up information to replace the rod bearings, it starts with removing the engine.

What I would suggest is to remove the oil pan and see if you can easily gain access to the rod bearings. You should be able to, but I can't be 100% sure.

I attached the directions below for the removal of the oil pan. Do this and let me know what you find.

See pics below. Note the one thing I didn't see in the directions is to disconnect the battery before starting. I would recommend doing that first.
