Hi, Fan velocity switch is defective. AC only turns ON if I hold fan switch with fingers. I deduce that with vibrations along the way, on a constant ON-OFF cycles, magnetic coil that engages AC compressor died. I know I need a new fan switch, and a new magnetic coil to compressor.

My questions are:

-How do reach fan switch? Can´t find on manuals how to remove center fascia...
Do I have to do the same steps as remove dashboard?

-Is it easy to pull out magnetic coil by hand?
Manual says it may be needed a "puller". But there's no space to use a puller without dismantling AC compressor.
So by hand and with a puller will be the difference between collecting gas, install new dryer, removing AC compressor, recharge gas, etc...
Will be the difference between replacing magnetic coil at home by me, or send the Starex to an auto shop.

Can you help me with some tips? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your time, Ken!

Pictures seems to be to a modern model than my H1/Starex. I know this model had different designations on different countries.
I'm going to upload a picture of my H1.
This model was released here (Portugal) at the end of 2005, up to 2007, maybe 2008.
It has diesel engine 2.5 CRDI 140hp/103Kw.
-----------------------------------------
Already went to Hyundai dealer, and they sell only the magnetic coil to AC compressor, probably part 97641-4A400. Since there's more than 1 version, it's only possible to check correct part number after removing it.

Yep, I had to improvise because we don't have that in our country. Here is how you change the clutch out. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Hi, Ken! Kind of delayed...

Fan velocity switch is replaced. Original from Korea through Ebay. Cheaper than Hyundai Portugal, same waiting time.
It also controls A/C auto on/off when front glass was selected. Constant on/cycles due to bad contact burned A/C compressor's magnetic coil.

Looked for a new magnetic coil and found it at Aliexpress.
Looked for a low profile pulley puller to replace magnetic coil without dismantling compressor, since the was no mechanics around here with such tool. Not even at Hyundai... This avoids new gas recharge, since it was charged.

Was ready to order magnetic coil and low profile puller, and received an alert from an online auto parts with 25% off.

So, bought a new A/C compressor and dehumidifier for 210€, with 2 years warranty.
30€ to recharge gas.
Changing theses parts was extremely easy.
It was much more difficult replace fan switch.

Except for a Hyundai stamp, A/C compressor looks exactly the same.

Hyundai Portugal wanted about 1500€ to a new A/C compressor.

My handwork, 9 moths later, and about 270€, I'm cool!
It took me some time, but saved lots of money.

I like Hyundai! Can't say the same about Hyundai part's prices...
But besides this A/C issue, already existing when I bought this used H1, I had zero problems! Oil, filters, tires...
Nothing more than basic maintenance and kms of joy.

Many thanks for your support!
