A/C compressor engages when heat is on

When I have my heater running, my compressor comes on and off as it would with the AC or defrost running. Should the compressor be running with only the heat on?

Hi and thanks for using 2carpros. It is normal for the A/C compressor to come on when using the heater. If you want to turn off the compressor then you should be able to depress the A/C button on the climate control head to shut it off.
