After having a new starter motor fitted on starting now have loud knocking noise until the engine is warm it sounds like it is burning excess fuel off. I did not have an issue before motor fitted and van been back three times they now assume it is a sticking injector, but I am dubious i have used the same garage for fifteen years. Any information would be appreciated.

Have you had the oil pressure checked, is the knock rhythmical that is at engine speed or random?

It could. They should do a complete deep scan of the computer for codes. They should also check the oil pressure and level.

If a bearing problem i more than likely would, but if there is a problem with the oil pressure regulator this can come and go at low revs cold until the reg warms up it may be binding up, this can be seen with an oil pressure test.
