Just bought car and when I turn on the heat it blows heat out of passenger side but cold out of drivers side?

It sounds like you are having an issue with your blend door actuator.It's a small electric motor that opens/close a door to direct air flow through specific ducts.Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:
