I had a c1233 replaced right front wheel bearing now just those two c1214 and c1248. I have another 2005 Cadillac DeVille like the same. Can I replace just the relay of the ABS unit and if so still thinking maybe broken or bad connection to ABS unit is that possible. Do I need to have the EBCM paired for the car? I'm putting it in because the light is not on in the other Cadillac. I'm just looking to get this piece of baked on enamel to pass inspection. thank you for your time.

The relay is integral to the EBCM so it is not able to be replaced on its own.

Here is a guide that will help with replace this module as it contains some good info:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-abs-controller

As for swapping the unit, if it is the same year then I would just check the part numbers that should be on the tag on the unit and if they are the same then you will be ok swapping it.

Basically you need to put the correct software in this but that is pulled off the VIN from the GM server but it is not VIN specific.

I attached the testing that we need to run through as well in order to prove out what the issue is.

Please run through this info and let us know if you have questions.

Thanks a lot for sure. I was wondering if you could recommend a place I could send the EBCM that's reliable and cheaper than two arms and a ham sandwich?

Do a Google search on Rebuilt GM EBCM and it will pull a few up. I have tried Automotive Circuit Solutions one time and that is the only experience I have on GM products and it was just fine.

Clearly when dealing with rebuild used parts, there is no guarantee but they are cheaper then the two arms but the ham sandwich is pushing it. :)
