Code P2418 issue?

The code is related to the Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) Switching Valve Control, often referred to simply as the EVAP valve or EVAP canister purge valve. Its primary function is to control the flow of fuel vapor from the fuel tank.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2418 in a Ford vehicle is related to the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Switching Valve Stuck Open.

Recheck the canister purge valve connector. Make sure nothing is damaged or corroded. Additionally, keep in mind the canister itself may need to be replaced.

Hello Joe, thank you for your quick response back.
Changing the canister was the first thing that I did after I got the code read. After changing the canister, I deleted the code with FORscan, but it came back almost immediately after turning the engine back on.

After reading multiple forums, it was suggested that the problem could be the Canister Vent Valve (some people called it the Fuel Tank Isolation Valve FTIV). I attached a picture of the part in question.

This is an expensive part, so is there any way for me to check to see if this is actually the problem?

Also I forgot to mention, that the harness to the purge valve connector does not show any signs of damage or corrosion (at least right there in the engine compartment).

That's the part. As far as testing, my manual provides a 57 step test. LOL By luck, I read in the first few test procedures to go to step 51 or 52.
