code P2106 and P2173 driving and engine stalls

My daughter was driving and every thing shut down.I check and found these codes I seen several reasons why the P2106 would set would low oil set this code I have to keep reminding my daughter to always check the oil .There was no oil on the dip stick

Please be sure to add oil to the engine! Unfortunately that code is not for low engine oil buy for the throttle actuator control system.The first thing I suggest is checking to see if there is any damage/deformation/cracks/leaking or obstructions between the air hose first between the throttle body and air hose first.I've attached a picture below of its location and description.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.Feel free to ask any questions if needed.

I replace the electronic throttle control module.After replacing it I thought it would start right up.It does not start it turns over but does not start.I check to see if there were any additional codes my reader says no codes.What should I be looking for with no codes

It sounds like the new actuator will need to be programmed to the car which should cost about $130.00 at a shop. Was the old unit super dirty? If so I would clean it then reinstall to see what happens, please let me know.

I had a local mechanic look at it and he said the timing belt slipped The rings are bad the engine is gone.

i have a 2003 kia sedona with about 135,000 miles on it. a few weeks ago it started to hiccup or kinda jerk while driving but not often. then one day it did this and shut off.it still had all power would turn over but not start. after about an hour it started right up. it did this a couple times and i changed the fuel pump. i drove it for 2 days and i was leaving a parking lot and it shut off-no warning it was running fine. still had all power would turn over but not start. i was told throttle position sensor, or crank shaft sensor. i am a single mother of 3 and i can not not afford to change parts just to find whats wrong with it. anyone know what it might be?

I would look more for the crank sensor. Instead of guessing, as it is expensive and in most cases wrong, have someone check it and pinpoint the failure

I forgot to replace the engine oil cap and drove it for two days 200 miles and the engine suddenly shut- off while driving, now it will not start.

is there oil all over the engine compartment .. you will need to clean up ... did the CEL (check engine light) come on at any stage ?

I have an 04 sedona with 88,000 miles on it. Took it to the dealer to have the timing belt replaced, it was due and starting to slip. Van overheated 2 days before, dealer replaced belt,leaking radiator, head and gasket, rear aux lines and wires and plugs. Dealer mentioned funny Maf sensor readings on the sales slip, but neglected to verbally tell us. Van would hesitate upon acceleration then engine cut out while driving(accelerating) 2 days after we got it back, check engine light is ON when we got it back idling rough. engine dies lights and accessories work still. Van won't start, after waiting 5 min. it starts then dies shortly after. Replaced maf sensor engine light went out. drove 70 miles fine. Again check engine light comes on as van dies while driving. Towed it home and there it sits. Dealer underquoted work by $1600, blamed the new guy and gave a $1000 discount on work, called 3 hours later with ironically $1000 new work to be done. I'm not stupid, you have to make up the discount elsewhere! Totally stumped. My research shows this has happened to many other, but haven't found many answers. Supposedly engine was tuned after repair, fuel trim calibrated, but still idling rough. Maf sensor just gets plugged in when replaced, no calibration needed, Am I right? What else should I check? My thoughts are fuel system or ecm. How do I check the fuel system? Could the dealership have screwed up the fuel trim , how do I check and fix it?

Get a scan done and let me know the EXACT trouble code for the CEL indicating.

Engine Performance problem
2005 Kia Sedona 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 73000 miles

Today in traffic the engine died. After a little while it cooled down and started up again and run for a short while then died again. Waited again and same thing happened. This has never happened before.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? When this happens, have you checked for spark and fuel to the engine?

When i start my sedona sometimes it starts and sometimes it don't,when it does it idles really rough then stalls,then i have to crank it 15 times to get it to run again.I put it on the computer and it says camshaft sensor A ank 1 and ignition coil primary and secondary malfunction,does this sound right or could it be a bad pcv valve.

Yes it sounds right. Chances are the cam sensor is causing the other code. Have you tried to replace it?

stopped van in driveway. put in park and it stalled. turned the key and started and stalled will not idle. started and held accelerator down to about 2000 rpmand released stalled. did this 3x went to 300 rpm 1 and held idle. there were no problems or studders leading up to this! Any thoughts would be appreciated?

It sounds like a bad idle air control valve. Has the check engine light come on?

we believe that it is the fuel pump but the mechanic at thae gas station said it was fine and a few days later it did the same exact thing stalling and then try it later it starts right up. now it wont even start at all in our driveway... HELP!!!!

Battery & alternator have been replaced twice.

Could it be a clogged fuel filter?

It could be anything and when it could not be started, you need to check what is missing, fuel or igniton sparks.

Filled the fuel tank when tanker was unloading at station. The vehicle appears to have run out of fuel. After being towed home car started up and ran for 4 days before same thing happened..
Could my filter be clogged? Where is it located? Web says on the firewall drivers side AND another says in the fuel tank. Or could it be the fuel pump working intermitant?

First off, that is something that you never want to do as you have found out. Them filling the tank stirs up all the crap in the bottom of their tank and you sucked it up. You most likely have ruined the pump now.
The fuel filter is part of the pump inside the tank.

Hi,
Problem is I have a Kia Sedona 2004 it runs great but 1 1/2 months ago I had to replace the fuel pump the car ran great. 3 weeks later at one finger nail above empty the van shut down I pulled to side of road. Some one suggested I might be out of gas So I put gas in and it started I then filled the tank. about 2 weeks later at one finger nail above 1/3 of the tank full the van shut down I pulled to side of road I then put gas in it started right up but the tank did have the gas in it but once more I filled it up one week ago the same thing but at one finger nail above 1/2 I filled it up but I could only get 4 gal in Saturday September 20 the van shut down I pulled to side of road got gas started right up I could only get $20 worth gas in tank now at a full tank the same but stuck at Safeway with full tank and the meter shows a full tank but vehicle acts as if there is no gas any Ideas I will donate if its the problem

Is the Malfunction Indication Light showing and have you checked for trouble codes?
When engine could not be started, did you check what was missing causing the non starting?

At no time did the check engine light come on the vehicle just shut down A friend did put an OEM /OBD reader ( I think that's what you call them) reader on it did not give any codes.

When engine could not be started, did you check what was missing causing the non starting?
the only thing I did was to add gas and it started right up.

Since problem started after replacement of the fuel pump, I would start with that. Check to see if the fuel pump connections are good, especially inside the fuel tank. A poorly connected hose or strainer can result in fuel supply disruption.

Loaned my car to niece. She said she was driving down road car quit running as all lights including engine lift lit up before it diedl. Towed to dealership and they said main relay switch under hood was missing. They said it was not possible to be driving along and this happening. Is this possible ?

I believe it is a relay and not a switch. If anything that controls the engine is missing, it is not possible to start let alone drive the vehicle. Did reinstalling the relay solved the problem?

2004 Kia Sendona 2.9 manual -EWL comes on under load at 60-70 mph. Then unable to select any gear until the engine is stopped and retarted and left running for 3-5 mins
