Code P0841

Hello,

The P0841 code is for the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit. Lets start by checking that out and replacing the sensor. but first have you checked the fluid level? Here is the location of the sensor, lets fix this problem fist to see if the rough idle goes away as well. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

We have replaced the spark plugs, replaced a vacuum hose that was damaged and another small hose/tube that was damaged. All hesitation is gone and it runs much better. The check engine light is off now. But when it is in Park and you shift to either Reverse or Drive, it takes a few seconds for the transmission to engage. Could this be the Transmission Fluid Replacement Sensor needing to be replaced or what?

Also, where do you purchase the sensor? We have checked the auto parts stores and no one has it.

To be sure there is a problem you would want to scan the system to see if there are any codes stored. There are codes that do not turn on the check engine light but can still be there.
The switch will likely be a dealer only part as each of the sensors are programmed into the system, however the Jatco JF017E transmission you have does have known failure issues relating to internal hydraulic pressure issues that require the entire transmission be replaced. There is a re-programming that a dealer can do, if it hasn't been done already, that might help in some situations.
