Those two codes came up on. My car listed above the other days. One says charging system low and the other one says ambient air temp sensor circuit low input. I changed the battery but while my bf was messing around with the wiring connected to the battery the lights on the dash were getting dim and shorting out. I am wondering if anybody has any input or has experience with this before? Please help!!!

Hi,

What wiring was he working with around the battery? Does the vehicle presently have power? Basically, is it running and do the electrical components work?

Let me know.

They do if the battery is connected to jumper cables, I'm pretty sure that it's the alternator. I was just hoping it was something else because financially I've been on unemployment and just can't afford it usually it wouldn't be an issuer. But does that sound like the alternator or a possibility for something else looking up those codes it sounds like it could be multiple things any info or suggestions on how to narrow down the problem is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

It could be an alternator. Do me a favor. Here is a link that explains how to test the alternator. All you need is a voltmeter or multimeter. It's easy to do.

Take a look through the link and let me know if you are comfortable performing it. I understand that a jumper battery will need to be connected, but we need to see if there is an increase in voltage with it running.

Let me know.
