Clutch pedal sticking

Hello,

My clutch pedal started sticking partially down, to all the way down. I bled the clutch system and that didn't make a difference. At times you can feel the pedal catch/hesitate when it comes back up.
It has gotten to point where, with the clutch pedal fully pushed in, there is resistance to getting the transmission out of gear. Also, at times the transmission will grind when trying to change gears.

This is very typical that the release bearing is failing and the slave cylinder is probably leaking internally. This means you will need to replace the clutch. Unless you just recently replaced the clutch then I would go ahead and have the entire thing replaced or I provided the procedure if you are going to do the work yourself.

Hello,
I installed a new slave cylinder, but it has the same problems. Any chance this could be a bad clutch master cylinder? I believe it's the original unit.

This is not as common but it is possible since you bled the system and then changed the slave and it did not change, I would go ahead and do the master and then bled the entire system again.

This clutch master cylinder has a different setup than I've seen before. It shares a reservoir with the brake master cylinder. How hard is this system to bleed?

Unfortunately I could not find a video of this vehicle. It is a bit different because it is a brake and clutch system. I am only able to find this detail but I doubt that will be enough. I will keep looking and see if I can find any other info.

I'm not sure what the "white mark" is in the image.
This is a fairly big job, the brake master cylinder and the booster has to be taken off to get to the clutch master.

That should be a line on the reservoir. Most likely the fill line. Clearly the drawing is not the best. You are correct. This is a big job. Dealing with clutches is one of my least favorite so I don't envy you. Sorry.

The replacement of the clutch master cylinder seems to have fixed the problem. I've put about 80 miles on the car so far with no issues.
Definitively a pain to replace this part.
