I get in the car and push the clutch pedal down to start the car and it starts fine, then i move the shifter into neutral and start to let off the clutch pedal and i get a sound like something is rubbing something else very fast. i replaced the clutch 9 months ago with a clutch kit that included a slave cylinder/release bearing in it. In the past four weeks i have replaced the slave cylinder, the bearing inside the transmission and it still makes this sound.what else could it be?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

If it is happening when you release the clutch, the first thing I think of is the throw-out bearing aka the release bearing. Is that what was replaced?

Does it only make the noise in neutral? If you release the clutch in any gear, does it make the noise?

I attached a picture of the bearing I'm referring to. You may have to remove the transmission and inspect the clutch cover and input shaft to the transmission for something loose or a bearing noise in the transmission.

By the way, is there any way you could record the sound and upload it for me to hear?

Let me know.
