clutch or gear oil

Does the engine rev up when you push the gas?

It sounds like you have a clutch that is slipping.

Do you have a hard time putting it in gear from a stop?

i push in the clutch and it starts just fine it will go between gears with no issue but when I go to release the clutch nothing the car stays running but won't move if I press the gas it revs up it started on the highway I was in fifth and I started to lose speed I made it home a good 35 miles after issue started, but it wasn't the easiest thing to do. I had to switch gears with gas down and could not come to a complete stop it was basically over.the car been sitting since. I have had people look at it and nobody for sure gives me an answer, but some say clutch others say clutch master cylinder. somebody else says I probably just need gear oil. I'm not the best when it comes to cars. I'm learning as I go. all the help will be greatly appreciated.

The master uses brake fluid.

The trans-axle uses gear oil.

It does sound like your clutch is slipping.

I watched the video and first off I never knew that it took that much work to fix a car let alone only one part of a car. not only am I new in the world of fixing cars but I don't get all the tools I would need for this advanced work. I'm stuck in a jam because I just checked the gear oil good not low. master cylinder good. so what the clutch and I can't fix the clutch with what little knowledge I have. so shop they want way too much money. so what do I do junk this baby? I can't do that because some of the parts I got on there I got from my friend who passed away last month (RIP Bobby). so any ideas how to get this fixed without losing an arm and a leg?

You can call and shop around. I would call local shops and see if they would help with pricing. Many local shops will be cheaper and they could finance the job as well for you.
