Clutch and gear stick

It sounds like you have two problem, the first is the stick shifter, at the bottom of the stick part there is a plastic ball and yours has falling apart and need replacing, remove the stick housing from on top of the transmission and replace the bushing. The second part is the clutch itself is worn out and the pressure plate is past its pivot point creating the hard pedal you describe for this the transmission with need to be removed, here is a guide to let you know what you are in for.

Thank you will order a new clutch do you no what the thing is called for the gear stick please as I can't find anything.

It could be a ear shifter bushing, every manufacturer calls is something different, pleas come back with the proper name once you contact the dealer.
