Clutch not working properly?

The clutch has been slipping since I bought the car a month ago. I was driving on the highway and my car suddenly lost power, and I pulled over and now it can put it in any gear without pushing in on the clutch and it doesn't move when I accelerate. Is there a slave cylinder where I can add fluid or is the only option to add it on the side of the transmission? A man friend of mine keeps insisting I need to check the transmission fluid but it's not an automatic. He says there has to be a place to add fluid for the clutch besides the transmission. I say he's wrong. I bought a new clutch but haven't found anyone to install it yet. Please advise if there is possibly something else that could be wrong. I'm pretty smart and I'm 99% sure it needs a clutch kit. I worked at auto parts and service depts for over 10 years and I learned a lot about diagnosing etc. Please advise,

Do you know if my 1992 Nissan Sentra 1.6-liter 5 speed has a hydraulic clutch? What do I need to buy besides the clutch kit? When I get it replaced, I want to make sure I get everything needed. I sent a photo of what was in the clutch kit I bought on Ebay.

Hi,

Some of these had a hydraulic clutch and others didn't. If you open the hood, check on the firewall near where the clutch pedal rod will enter the engine compartment. Is there anything there that appears to be hydraulic? Is there a separate reservoir other than the brake master cylinder that may hold the fluid for a clutch MC?

My friend is trying to remove the clutch from the flywheel, but the flywheel is turning. Can you tell me what he needs to do to stop that from happening? Please and thank you.

Hi,

Are you able to get a pry bar or heavy-duty flat screwdriver wedged between the flywheel teeth and the transmission case to hold it in place?

Also, if the transmission is removed and you are removing the pressure plate, the easiest thing is to use an impact wrench. If that isn't available, fully seat the socket on the bolt and then smack the ratchet or breaker bar with a hammer. That will usually shock them loose.
