I had the master cylinder and slave cylinder replaced for my clutch. It worked good but the next day went to drive and no clutch. The pedal was still firm but no clutch. This has happened several times. Can you help please?

Hello,

It sounds like the clutch disc has fallen apart which causes the clutch material to get caught in the pressure plate so it is unable to release. To fix this the transmission must be removed.

Here is a guide that will show you what you are in for when doing the job.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Does repeatedly pumping the clutch pedal a few times before attempting to engage gears make any difference?

It does sound like you have a problem with the clutch again. Did they replace the pilot bearing when they did the job?

Can you have someone press the clutch pedal down so you can watch the slave operation? Please take a video with your phone of it and upload it here to the site in your reply so I can see the movement.

Yep, We will be able to tell if it is the clutch hydraulics or the mechanical part.

Hi Ken. The clutch must have a mind of it`s own. Now after a few months it has fixed itself and no problems. It is amazing and i cannot fathom how is this so, Cheers.

Hmm, maybe it had an air bubble or a piece of the clutch disc come off and now has cleared the unit allowing it to work again.
