Just purchased this car base model with only 10,000 miles. When braking, I'm hearing and feeling (through the steering wheel) a "clunking" sound. Steering and braking are fine, but not sure if this is something I need to look into.. thanks

Hi,

Is it a repetitive clunk or single?

Couple things come to mind even though it has low mileage we should still check this stuff. First, and most simple is if the pads are new then more than likely the previous owner just replaced them and they are actually the wrong pad. I have heard of a few Corvettes having a clunk in the brakes and it was because they got pads for a different model car.

Next, is if there is an issue in the caliper mounting bracket. Maybe the mounting bolts is not holding the caliper solid.

Whatever it is, I would suggest we figure it out because anything to do with the brakes is something that should be taken care of.
