Whenever I slow down to around one to ten mph and than tap the accelerator I hear and feel a clunking on the driver's side part of the engine bay. It does not do this all the time. I am wondering if the bushings in the control arm could be causing this? 1.8L engine

Could be that or axles have front suspension or an engine mount. Could be a ball joint as well.

This is what a normal hole for the upper dog bone motor mount looks like(circled in red),the hole in my car looks like a stretched out circle(oval). If that's the case does anyone know if that's part of the frame and the only way to fix it is to replace that metal part of the frame?

Hey SEAN92

That is what it should look like, make sure the bolt is tight and you should be fine, if the bolt was loose it would make the noise you were talking about.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others

Best, Ken

The problem was a cracked bushing on the front left lower control arm.
