This problem started immediately after a cambelt change (had to drop engine slightly to remove engine cover). All engine mounts checked and are okay.

When the clutch pedal is released, there is a noticeable clunk noise coming from the transmission area. I have also noticed when turning in reverse there is sometimes a clunk, but it is always happening when changing gear. When I release the clutch pedal slowly, there is no clunk. Recently noticed some judder at around fifty to sixty mph but I may be getting more paranoid.

Have I caused free-play somewhere when changing a cam-belt? The crank was locked in place and it did not need the bolt undoing so do not think the issue is that side of the engine?

Here is my problem on YouTube:

Hello,

The noise your here when you move the axle (wheel) by hand is normal. I think the noise is a clutch arm problem like a return spring is broken or clutch fork is having a problem. I would remove the transmission to inspect. Thanks for the video it would make our job a lot easier if everyone did that, nice work.

Please let us know what happens so it will help others.

Cheers, Ken
