I had the airbag light come on after a heavy person was in my vehicle. The mechanic said that the right seat bladder was damaged and I need to replace my clock-spring. How is the seat sensor bladder connected to my clock-spring? Why would that need to be repaired but not my seat sensor?

the mechanic scanned for codes and found that the clock spring inside steering wheel has gone bad. these are very delicate mechanisms and it may have been going bad to begin with. the bladder is part of the air bag system so it may have burnt up the clock spring as well as the bladder.
