Is the noise loud enough to record and upload for me to hear? Also, have you properly torqued the axle nut? (see torque specifications below). Any issues with the ball joints or other steering components?

Keep in mind, it could be the hub bearing itself that is failing. When you turn right, you are adding extra weight to the left. If that is what you hear, it isn't uncommon for the bearing itself to make that kind of noise.

Lift that wheel off the ground and check for up - down, left - right, in -out play in the wheel.

Let me know what you find,

Joe

Hi,

Wow! That doesn't happen too often. I'm glad you found it. That could have caused some serious problems.

Regardless, thanks for the update and feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Take care,

Joe

You're telling me, anyone I've spoken to has been in utter shock when I tell them or show them the picture. Didn't hit anything and to my knowledge nothing hit it, but it's busted pretty good. Waiting for Honda to finally ship me out a new one.

Hi,

In 40 years, I've never seen one crack like that. That certainly was dangerous.

Take care and feel free to come back anytime in the future.
