When turning slightly the steering wheel (not full turn) to the right I hear a clicking noise. It is heard only when going round bends on gear. When turning in neutral the sound is not heard. I though it was the outer CV joint so I changed it. The sound is still there. Could it be the inner CV joint? If not what could the fault be? Thanks for your help.

Good afternoon,

It does sound like an axle shaft. I would replace the entire shaft. They are very inexpensive.

What side has the issue? did you check both sides?

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is only heard when turning to the right. No clicking noise when turning to the left.

I would remove the axle and look at both CV joints. If none is found, then replace the axle shaft.
