The car recently had a problem where the performance of the car seriuosly deteriorated and the engine light came on. I took it to a garage who said it would be the coil pack. This was done without a diagnostic as I was there when they made this assumption and ordered the part just by looking at it.
When I went to pick it up the car still had the same problem and was left with them, this time they advised after a diagnostic that a fuel injector had a fault and needed a replacement, which after being replaced has resulted in the car running ok again.
My question is what is the likelyhood of both the coilpack and the injector failing at the same time? I have serious concerns that it was the injector all along and their original diagnosis by just looking at it was incorrect.
I've not yet paid for the 2nd lot of repairs.
