Okay, so I am at a loss for words for what is wrong with my car. I changed my radiator, water pump and put in two thermostats and for some reason my thermostat refuses to open up. that is why I put a second one in to double check that it was not bad. even boiled it in water to see if it opens up. I have heat, and the weirdest part of all is that my car does not overheat anymore so why is my thermostat not opening? Everyone keeps telling me that if my engine is not getting hot then to just leave it alone, but it is kind of bothering me. Oh and I do not have any leaks. please help because I am going crazy over here.

How do you know the thermostat is not opening up?

From what I see, that is not a cross flow radiator and they can be difficult to tell when there is coolant flowing.

My lower hose is not getting hot which is ran from the thermostat housing to the bottom of the radiator so that probably means my thermostat is not opening up. However, it does not make sense because it is not getting hot.

Did you by chance hotwire your cooling fans to run all the time?

If you are getting heat from the heater than the engine must be getting warm. I would ignore it if there are no overheating or heater problems.
