I am trying to diagnose a squeak from a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. It is usually a persistent squeaking sound, best heard from under the car or on the drivers side by the tire. It occurs under load while driving, or sitting still when the engin is revved and is revving down.

I have checked the belts/tensioner and that is not the source of the problem.

Is it possible that it could be coming from the transmission?

It sounds like a belt. How have you checked it? Try this. With the engine running, pour a small amount of water on the belt to see if the noise changes. If it does, it's the belt. Make sure to protect your eyes and wear old clothes because water will fling back at you.

Let me know what you find.
