2002 Chrysler Town and Country Sputters and Misses

Hello. Our 2002 Town and Country has recently started sputtering and missing when engaged in drive. It idles fine in park, reverse and neutral but as soon as it is put in drive it starts acting up. It can be backed out of the driveway and up the street with no problems but try going forward and it has problems as soon as drive is engaged even with the foot still on the brake. As soon as it is taken out of drive it idles fine.
