I have done a lot of work on mini vans. I have replaced transmissions and rack & pinion just to let you know that I have a good idea of the front end. There is grease coming out from the front tire wheel well. I think it is coming from the hub seal. The question is - can I remove the (obviously removing the wheel and axle nut)
hub and replace the axle bearing seal without removing the strut or compressing the strut?

Hello,

If there is grease there then the bearing is most likely the cause and you will need to replace the front hub bearing assembly. And to answer your question the hub assembly is bolt on so yes you should be able to change it out without removing the strut.

Wheel bearing grease is too hard and moving too slowly to spray around the wheel well. That grease is classic loose clamp on the large end of the outer cv joint boot.
