it feels like it bucky while driving the vehicle. but not real bad, but it does it enough that you recognize it. so would a fuel filter cause this problem?

If the filter was neglected, I would expect that you pump is bad. A plugged filter kills pumps. However it doesn't usually cause a irradic idle. Hesitation yes. Precisely why I suggest the fuel pressure to be checked when the problem happens. HJow often have you changed the filter. I do mine about every 35,0000.

When was the last time the air filter was changed, lack of air can be similiar to lack of fuel.

A professional fuel injector cleaning would be a good idea to help remove carbon. Cleaning the intake valves with cleaners such as "seafoam" would be smart.
