Noises problem
1998 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

The first weekend that I got my car the belt to the alternator broke. We had it replaced and my car started to squeal, so my mechanic replaced the belt again and the car still squealed. That was 2004. People gave me all kinds of advice, like replace the tensioner, replace the belt but I lived with it because it wasn't that bad because it wasn't constant. A couple of weeks ago my husband borrowed my car and it died. The belt split, the alternator died and it killed my battery. My mechanic was on vacation so my husband took it to a garage across from where he works. Got everything fixed and my car squealed constantly, not too loud, but constant. I asked my regular mechanic to replace the tensioner and I just got it back and it SQUEALS more than ever. My mechanic thinks the belt is bad, but I'm getting tired of this. What should I do? Please help!

Have them check the pulley alignment. If a pulley is not aligned with the others it will squeel even with a new belt on it.
