1996 Chrysler Town and Country S-Belt problems

1996 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I was driving my T&C the other day and the S-Belt came off.I tried to put it back on but no luck So i got to inspecting it and found cracks in it so i went out and got a new belt.And i can't get this one on i have been trying for three days now and no luck.the tension will go so far but still the belt will not go back on, Any suggestions?

Hi:
They can be a pain. Are you able to get all of the play from the tensionier? Also, compare the new belt's size to the old one. Make sure they are the same. Finally, make sure you have the belt routed correctly. If you need to see the correct routing, go to the "Drive Belt Routing Diagrams" on this page. Put your vehicle info in and you will see a picture of how the belt shoulld be.

If you still can't get it, let me know.

PS:What are you using to move the tensionier?
