1996 Chrysler Town and Country AC low pressure cycling swit

I am attempting to add freon (R134a) to my 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LXI 3.8L. I Read the Chilton's repair manual and it said that I would need to "pull the low pressure cycling switch plug and attach a jumper wire" in order for the compressor to be on while I add the freon. Looked throughout the repair manual and could not locate where the low pressure cycling switch. Can you tell me exactly where to find the "low pressure cycling switch plug" is so I can complete what I started?

The cycling switch is on the low side line (big hose), usually near the accumulator/ receiver dryer.If you attach the charge kit to the system, when it has enough pressure it will turn on.Chrysler sometimes uses a 4 wire switch for PCM data on the A/C so it might not be as simple as a jumper wire

Where would I find the Dryer/Accumilator on my T & C? If I have a 4 Prong switch, how would I jump it?

You dont have to jump it necessarily.When the switch sees enough pressure it will turn the compressor on.Follow th ebig hose, it should be between compressor and the firewall

I followed it but don't see anything on the hose. what does it look like? would you happen to have a picture? I'm thinking that the pressure is so low that it will not turn on.

Sometimes they put both fittings on thehigh side line, bu tnot too often.That is the smaller line of the wo, near thefirewall

I looked for the low pressure cycle switch but could not find it. I did come accross a switch that was in the smalled hose near the firewall. I referenced it in the book and it does have four prongs, but only three wires. The book calls it the A/C Pressure Transducer. Is this the same thing as the Low Pressure Cycle switch?

That is what sends info to the PCM.Dodge had issues with those goiing bad.I am going to suggest that you have a shop hang gauges on the system to verify pressure to see if this is an electrical or lack of pressure problem
