I have just replaced my leaking fuel tank, faulty sending unit, and fuel filter with a new one. I reused the fuel tank lock ring. I replaced all removed clamps with high pressure clamps and made sure they were all tight. I replaced the tank straps and bolts and they are tight. I installed everything as reversed to removal and now theres a loud thumbing/rumbling noise that can be heard and felt coming from the fuel tank. Do you know what this could be?

Hi:
When you replaced the pump, the bottom section should have been adjustable. There would have been a screw on the side that would allow the bottom section to move. Did you see what I'm talking about? When you replaced it did hit the bottom of the tank?

After thinking about it, I didn't check to see if the sending unit had an adjustment screw . The sending unit has 2 legs with rubber caps on the bottom of the unit. There is also a spring on the feed line between the reservoir and the top of the unit. I do remember the unit hitting the bottom of the tank when putting it in. I may have to drop the tank and start all over again :( . I have uploaded a picture of the exact unit I've installed. The 2 legs, that i'm talking about are on the back side of the unit and aren't shown in this pic.

Hi:
When you check it, make sure to try it before replacing everything. I know what it's like to remove a fuel pump and wound't want you doing it a third time. Also, make sure that you have the pump down as low as you can without it laying on the bottom.
