2000 Chrysler Sebring V6 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 175000 miles

My car would not start and was towed in. The mechanic said the distributor went out. My husband replaced it and did a turn up. Now the instrument panel doesn't work. It is lit up but none of the gauges work. Also it acts like it want change gears from 3rd(its an automatic). Any suggestions?
