1999 Chrysler Sebring using stop leak to seal gaskets, engi

My car was driven and overheated into the RED, I have traces of water in my oil and know it has either a blown head gasket or cracked block.
I don't have the money or time to have the gasket replaced, what are the reasons I shouldn't try a stop leak product like liquid glass?

If it is a cracked block...you have nothing to loose.

But is it is a gasket or water pump whatever. The additive in question is not a "fix" I wont even really call it a band-aid. It is something a person would use in a "get me home" situation. It can plug the heater core, small water passages in the internal workings of the engine. Some have adverse reactions to aluminum and other alloys.
