I just discovered that the drivers seat outside panel on my Cruiser was broken. When reading online forums this is an apparent problem. But I have a new one on order, so my only concern at this time is removing the power seat switch from the broken panel. Looking at the back of the panel shows that this switch just snaps in, but it has a large knob on the outside that must be removed to allow the switch to be removed. I am sure that these switches are expensive so I don't want to break the control knob off.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the help.

Hello,

Here is a guide on how to change a seat switch with diagrams and instruction below to help you change it out on your car.

REMOVAL
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Remove two screws to left cushion side shield.
Disconnect wiring from switch.
Remove attaching screws and switch from bezel.

Jack O good evening, the problem that I am experiencing is that the large control knob on the outside of the seat trim does not allow removal of the switch. This switch snaps in place from the back side of the seat trim, no screws. I don't know if this knob attached via a barb type of attachment or there is some other type of mechanism holding it in place. If I am able to remove the knob from the front of the seat trim, the switch may be easily removed from the back side of the seat trim.

Thank you again for your help.

Jack O, good morning, your photo looks exactly like the problem switch. I will carefully try to pop the knob off.

Thanks a lot for the support....

Ah sorry for my confusion.

I am after the plastic trim/bezel that houses the switches, etc, not the actual switch.

The plastic lugs that clip it to the seat snapped, sucky design it seems.

Thanks for the quick response, hope maybe you can help on the triim too!!
