2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser sudden shift to the left

My pt cruiser tends to pull suddenly to the left when it shifts into high gear, then the steering stabilizes. It feel like something is loose. What could cause this problem?

It's hard to say which component is loose without getting under your car and taking a look, but it'll be a suspension/steering rack bushing, or an engine/trans mount. Sometimes the rubber cracks or a bolt rusts and breaks.
