My check engine light came on so I had the codes read and it came back as P0601, which was translated to me as I need to replace the PCM (computer). I am extremely tight on cash and after some research, found a used one for $150. The local dealership is telling me I can't do that, but I don't trust them and why would they sell a used on if you couldn't replace your old one with it. So, my question is:
Can I buy a used computer and replace my old one with it and have it ?reprogrammed? for my car?
