2006 Chrysler Pacifica tailgate lock won't open

Auto lock on tailgate will not open,The auto lock opens all the doors but will only produce a click on the tailgate. Is there a simple owners manual fix i'm missing. I use the drivers auto lock and the key auto lock. They both only produce a click in the tailgate. Is the lock system broken/ What type of repair is needed and what is an estimated cost

If you can hear a click then the actuating solenoid is working, so i would be removing the trim, an having a look at what is actually going on, it jut may be that the link rod has come off, theres are usually attached by a plastic clip and it may have parted way.
