2006 Chrysler Pacifica Possible valve lifter issue

I got a call from my wife(I'm currently in the military and deployed)about a ticking noise she heard on the Pacifica. She had her dad look at and he thought it was the valve lifter. I've also been told to put some engine/carb cleaner in it to start, my question is if it is the valve lifter, what is the going rate for getting it repaired.
