2005 Chrysler Pacifica condensation on windows

is the moisture on the window a oily feeling liquid? rub your finger on it and look for it smearing and oil getting on your finger.

sounds to me like a bad heater core, it is probably a minor leak, not all leaks will leave moisture on the floor nor give off a antifreeze smell

The side windows do not have any oily feel to them, it is pure water. However, the windshield down at the bottom does smear especially the passenger side does have smear I don't know if I would say it has any oily feel to it though. Is there anyway it could be anything else, like a blocked vent?

have you used the heater a month previous without this problem or has it just happened suddenly out of the blue? have you used the A/C recently before this problem occured of have you been using the heater strictly?

I had been using the heater previously, this ust happened out of the blue when we received our first snow. Otherwise, I have not had a problem with the A/C, heat, or moisture before.

Is the car usually parked outside? if so park it inside for a few days or over the weekend for a couple of days if it is snowing. does this seem to get rid of the steam?

The car is always parked in the garage unless I am at work. Could it possibly be a hose that could have a leak in it? Or some type of a vent that is blocked?

I think I am agreeing with you. If I have a mechanic check any of the hoses, does this still include disassembling of the dash or where ever the heater core is? Is there anyway it could be something to do with the a\c itself? When I turn on the air conditioner and have the controls set to LO, 60, or 65 degrees it does not get that cold. Is this because of the a sensor that would prevent the car from getting really cold?

yes the drain can be plugged, that is why i asked if you used the A/C lately! to check the heater core and hoses througly they will have to disassemble the dash, it will be expensive.

I just tried that today! Where is the drain and how do you have it checked?

i have an appt tomorrow and I want them to check that also. This is a different place then where I took the car on Monday.

To previous reader (angi72, I think...) I had this exact same problem, took the dealer a year and a half to solve it! Took them a long time to find it because they would fire it up, let it run, then come back and check and it would be fine. We finally got them to take it for a road test, and they were amazed at how fast it fogged up! (We packed towels on trips, it was so bad.) Turns out the air conditioner must be on and running while the vehicle is on defrost - it should happen automatically, but mine was not. They reset the air conditioner module, and now the air conditioner indicator comes on whenever defrost is on, and since then have not had the problem - a total transformation! They advised to check for the a/c indicator any time it is on defrost, and if it doesn't come on by itself, hit the button to turn it on manually.... good luck, hope this helps!
