My blower fan is working properly, my mode seems stuck on blowing air from dash vents (when I select the mode for foot level and defrost level it remains blowing from the dash vents). However, the biggest problem is that the air from the vents is outdoor temperature rather than from the engine. What is it and is something I can fix? By the way, I have checked my coolant level and checked the fuses.

Thank you - Dan

Hello Dan

So if I understand you correctly……fan motor speed is okay…….

The air only comes out of the front dash vents…….no matter what is selected…….

Does the AC work okay? When you select the recirculation button does it work…..come out the different vents?

For the heat……do you have any heat at all even out the dash vents……

You don’t have any heat………..

Please check your heater hoses going into the firewall…..is one hot and one not really or are they both hot or what are they?

What type of coolant are you using?

Please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O’Reilly’s (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don’t get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Hello,

It sounds more like the speed control for the blower motor had gone out. Here is a diagrams to show you the location.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch. If they are both hot, the heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not.

My car heat has been acting crazy. First, I turn it on and it does nothing, then five mintues later it comes on. Then maybe it won't shut off. Sometimes the front blowers blow hot but the back seat blows cold. Sometimes it does not work at all. Other times the blowers up top for the defrost work fine but the blowers for the passengers does nothing. It basically seems to have a mind of its own.....any ideas?
