transmission cooler breakdown

I am wondering about the transmission cooler being damaged because of a defective transmission. We had the transmission replaced with a used one and within 2 days the replaced transmission and transmission cooler went out. Is it possible that the transmission (obtained from the junk yard) was defective thus causing the transmission cooler to go out

Is there not anyone out there that can help me with this question? Is there someone that works on transmissions that knows the answer to this question or do they know of of site that can answer this question. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Blessings
