the last part of your answer may tell the tale. another fellow claims if the light is on, the airbag is inoperable. is he right?

why u asking ur airbag light on?? u sound worried :?
The light is telling something is wrong but doesnt mean that it doesnt work.. and we dont want to hit a tree to find out..... Id check air bag fuses if there is any, any wiring that might be involved with front sensors or air bag its self.. Or if u dont what airbag going of on for no resoon just pull steering cover off and unhook it..

i rushed threw all the answers but did anyone say clockspring? if so forgive me? there was a recall on the clockspring about 4 months ago. call a chrysler dealership and ask if it covered your car. and if the dumb butt working on it didn't remove the positive cable to the battery and wait for five, i'm sure he did get a face full of airbag. he is lucky it didn't brake his hand!
