Hi my car is a Chrysler - Stratus 2005 it has 77,000 kilometers anyways over the last couple weeks it started making a clicking sound when you start the car there is no noise it takes a couple minutes of driving before it starts and it only starts clicking when I am not pressing the gas pedal for example when I come up on a stop light and lift my foot of the gas pedal the noise starts and when I turn off the car it gets in it's last few clicks real fast as the engine shuts down
I was told it could be the transmission or the motor
was told maybe it is the type of oil I used I had an oil change and had them put in the best synthetic oil they had that was acout 2 months ago or about 1,000 miles the mechanic said maybe my car doesn't like the synthetic oills because they are to thin so again I just had another oil change this time using regular oil which was thick and some oil additive to help compression and stop noises anyways needless to say it stoped the noise for a couple hours but today the noise was back 100% I was told it would take a few days to eliminate the noise but it is just as bad as before anyways needless to say maybe it is not the oil and maybe you guys have a better idea of what it could be
before I go through an expensive motor or transmission repair maybe it is something else
by the way I am in mexico who knows how good the mechanics are that I went to which is why I am asking you guys I went to 4 different mechanics all said it sounded like the transmission so I went to a transmission specialist he disconected the transmission and had me run the motor with out the transmission conected and he said it was not the transmission cause he still heard the clicking although I could not hear the clicking at all hardly he said that was because the weight of the transmission not on the motor is what made it rattle less but also after he connected the transmission agina it took about 5-6 hours before the noise came back again
Please Help by the way this is all I have on my paypal account at the moment which is why I am only donating $2.90
