2001 Other Chrysler Models rack and pinon

I have a noise in the front end it steers fine and doesn't pull. I took it to the shop and the mechanic said it was just the rack and pinon steering it was nothing to worry about, does this sound right or should I get another opinon?

If you have a noise in the front end, something isn't right. Can you describe the noise to me and tell me if there are specific times you hear it?
