alternator noise

I have a 1986 chrysler new yorker 2.5 liter engine. first, iÈm having an over heating problem I think Iv blown the water pump,however,could it also bethe electrical(my car told me it was malfunctioning)
also, about the alternater, I have installed a new one 2 weeks ago,today it started sqweeling and got very hot, what should I do..

remove the belt and check to see if the altinator is binding up, check to see if the water pump is binding up. i have found just because something is new sometimes they are bad. if the altinator is getting hot the bearing could be bad.
